PARK RIDGE

Two 19-year-olds have been charged with burglarizing a Park Ridge home in July and stealing a handgun.

Samantha Locascio, 19, of the 3500 block of North Keeler, Chicago, and Dimitri Torres-Favela, 19, of the 2300 block of Calwagner, Melrose Park, were each charged Sept. 7 with residential burglary following an investigation into the July 21 break-in of a home on the 800 block of Rowe Avenue.

Park Ridge Deputy Police Chief Lou Jogmen said a gun and a video game system were stolen from the residence. The gun was later recovered by police, he said.

Locascio and Torres-Favela remained in Cook County Jail this week with bond set at $80,000 each. They were scheduled to appear in court Sept. 18.

Police also arrested an acquaintance of the two suspects after he allegedly made false statements to police during the course of the investigation, Jogmen said.

Javier Zurita, 19, of the 9700 block of West Dickens, Melrose Park, was charged with obstruction. His bond was set at $1,000 and he has a Sept. 21 court date.
