Filing begins Dec. 17 for April election

PARK RIDGE — On Monday, Dec. 17 Park Ridge City Clerk Betty Henneman will begin accepting nominating petitions from candidates planning to run for local office next spring.

Petitions for mayor, city clerk and alderman of the 2nd, 4th, and 6th Wards can filed with the clerk at City Hall, 505 Butler Place, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Candidates must present the city clerk with their petition sheets, a Statement of Candidacy and their receipt for filing a Statement of Economic Interest. Filing of the Loyalty Oath is optional.

Petitions will be accepted through Dec. 26 at 5 p.m. City Hall is closed on Saturdays and Sundays and also on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.

Interested parties may obtain additional information from the Illinois Board of Elections website, www.elections.il.gov. Candidate packets are available in the City Clerk’s Office.

The election will be held April 9, 2013. The mayor, city clerk and aldermanic seats are four-year terms.
