Teen found inside stolen vehicle in Park Ridge

PARK RIDGE — A 17-year-old Elgin boy was charged with several offenses after Park Ridge Police found him unconscious behind the wheel of an allegedly stolen car.

Police said the teen was slumped over the wheel of a vehicle parked on the 800 block of Rowe Avenue on the morning of Jan. 8 and transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

According to police 7.2 grams of suspected marijuana was found inside the vehicle which had been reported stolen out of Elgin. Police said the teen also had an arrest warrant out of Kane County.

It was not known why the boy was in Park Ridge, according to Deputy Police Chief Lou Jogmen.

The teen was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of marijuana and driving without a valid license. He has a Feb. 5 court date.
