A 3-year-old boy was hit by a car, but escaped injuries, on a Park Ridge street last week, police said.
According to a police report, the Park Ridge boy and his mother were crossing Dee Road at Cherry Street just after 4 p.m. Oct. 25 when a 2001 Dodge Caravan, making a left turn from Cherry onto Dee, struck the child. The boy, who was hit by the bumper of the vehicle, was knocked to the ground.
Paramedics were called, but no injuries were observed and the child was not complaining of pain, police said. His mother reportedly did not want him taken to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 65-year-old man from Quebec, Canada, was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
