Westfield Old Orchard is the place for preschoolers to be 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Saturday of each month. That’s when they can attend a WFamily event designed just for them.
“We change the theme every month,” Marketing Coordinator Edelyn Ellwood said. “September 1, the theme is ‘Let’s Sing-a-Long!’ It’s not just singing through the hour. It’s a combination of storytime, craft and sing-a-long.”
The three-part session’s goals are to encourage a love of literature and inspire imagination and creativity.
The free monthly events are held at the Barnes & Noble store’s lower level in the Skokie shopping center at Old Orchard Road and Skokie Boulevard. You don’t need to register for this event which is led by a Skokie Public Library librarian. An adult must stay with the child.
Future themes are “Tricks and Treats!” (Oct. 6), “Turkey Tales” (Nov. 3) and “Story Time with Santa” (Dec. 1).
