Jerry’s, 507 Chestnut St, Winnetka, hosts a Father’s Day Eve Event on June 18 that will feature smoked strip loin steak, an array of delicious steakhouse side dishes and beer. Priced at $32 per person, dinner will include a cut of Strip Loin Steak, Fresh Tomato Stack Salad with Creamy Bleu Cheese Dressing, Double-Stuffed Baked Potatoes and One 312 draft beer. Take Dad and walk through the Model Railroad Garden at the Chicago Botanic Garden to see 17 garden-scale trains wind their way through nearly 50 miniature replicas of America’s best-loved landmarks. Favorite landmarks include Comiskey Park, Wrigley Field, Mt. Rushmore, Lombard Street in San Francisco, Old Faithful and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Oak Park Home and Studio. Model Railroad Garden admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children (ages 3-12). Garden members save $1 per ticket. Have lunch in the Garden Cafe Garden Cafe or Garden Grille. Pensiero Ristorante, 1566 Oak Ave. in Evanston’s historic Margarita European Inn, is transforming into Pensiero Steak House for Father’s Day, extending its menu for Sunday, June 19, with meat men love. Executive Chef Joseph Wojciechowski has added Buffalo Hanger Steak and Bone-in Ribeye to a selection of the restaurant’s most popular dishes and invites families to join them to celebrate their man’s special role in the family. Prairie Grass Cafe, 601 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook, offers a Father’s Day Buffet from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The special buffet menu features Roasted New York Strip Loin with mushroom sauce, Chef Sarah’s Fried Chicken, Creamy Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Chorizo Sausage with vegetables and bean ragout, Grilled Salmon with warm vegetable salad, Signature PGC Eggs Benedict, an Omelet Station, Waffles with maple syrup, Apple-wood Smoked Bacon, Chopped Greek Salad with warm feta, Creamy Vegetable Slaw and Grilled Vegetables with basil remoulade. Rooks Corner in the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel, 933 Skokie Boulevard, Northbrook, just released a new menu and to honor the patriarch of the family, they will offer dad’s entree for free (valid with purchase of one entree) on Father’s Day. They are open for breakfast, lunch or dinner and offer a great selection of entrees including Midwest “Bennie”, Chicken Fried Steak, Signature Filet Mignon, Bleu Cheese and Wild Mushroom Burger and North Shore Burger.
