Argument leads to obscene gesture, disorderly conduct charge: Park Ridge police

Updated: February 27, 2012 8:34AM

A Park Ridge man was charged with disorderly conduct after an argument in an Uptown parking lot allegedly led to an obscene gesture.

Nicholas Pavletic, 50, of the 900 block of South Prospect Avenue, was accused of grabbing his genitals through his sweatpants and shaking them at a woman Jan. 22 in a parking lot at 190 N. Northwest Highway, said Park Ridge Police Lt. Duane Mellema.

Mellema said Pavletic and the 46-year-old woman became involved in a verbal dispute after Pavletic’s vehicle nearly struck the woman as he pulled into a parking space.

A 49-year-old man then approached and attempted to defend the woman when Pavletic allegedly grabbed himself and performed the obscene action, Mellema said. He then reportedly left the area.

Pavletic was later located by police and charged. He was released on his own recognizance and assigned a Feb. 15 court date.
