Two drivers were taken to an area hospital after a man allegedly drove through a red light at a Park Ridge intersection, causing a three-car crash.
The accident occurred at 9:40 a.m. Jan. 16 at the intersection of Dee Road and Oakton Street.
According to Park Ridge police a 46-year-old Riverwoods man driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe disobeyed a red light while driving south on Dee and struck a 2001 Honda Civic, which was eastbound on Oakton Street.
The Honda then collided with a 2007 Hyundai, pushing the Hyundai into a ComEd utility pole on the south side of Oakton Street, police said.
The driver of the Honda, an 81-year-old Park Ridge woman, and the driver of the Hyundai, a 68-year-old woman from Huntley, were both transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
The driver of the Chevy was ticketed for disobeying a traffic-control signal and operating an uninsured vehicle, according to the accident report.
