The cause of a Feb. 12 fire inside a 30-unit condominium building at Park Ridge’s Bristol Court complex remained undetermined this week.
Park Ridge Fire Lt. John Ortlund said on Feb. 20 that the investigation was ongoing and that the cause of the blaze, which resulted in damage to five condo units at 500 Thames Parkway, was still unknown.
Park Ridge fire investigators were working with investigators from the insurance company involved and were awaiting a report, Ortlund said.
Ortlund said the investigation is “not a criminal matter.”
One week after the fire, which broke out in a third-floor condo, occupants of five units were still unable to return to their residences, Ortlund said.
Some units sustained water damage or required electrical repairs, he added.
No injuries were reported and no one was at home in the unit where the fire originated.
