Thomas William Kashul, Jr. graduated from the Air Force Academy on May 23, becoming 2nd lieutenant, according to information provided by his mother, Mary Kashul.

Thomas Kashul is a 2008 graduate of Maine South, where he was a member of the Constitution team, captain of the wrestling team, played football all four years and was a member of the National Honors Society, in addition to many volunteer hours.

Academic major: Management.

Accomplishments at USAFA: Basic Cadet Flight Commander, Group II Sophomore (C2C) of the Semester; Squadron Commander; he also earned his jump wings.

2012 Summer Plans: Trip to Europe and a Mediterranean cruise with family.

Next Assignment: Pilot Training at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss.

Parents: Thomas William Kashul, Sr., and Mary Kashul.
