Park Ridge Police said a Morton Grove man blamed a three-car crash on another driver he claimed became distracted by a woman who was standing on a nearby corner.

The accident occurred at 5:40 p.m. June 6 on Oakton Street at Michael John Drive. According to police a 2009 Nissan Maxima driving east on Oakton Street was rear-ended by a 2003 Toyota Camry driven by a 63-year-old Schaumburg man. The Nissan was then pushed into a 1996 BMW driven by a 64-year-old Niles woman.

The driver of the Nissan, a 55-year-old Morton Grove man, told police he was stopped in traffic before the accident and alleged that the driver of the Toyota appeared distracted by a blond woman who was standing at the corner of Oakton Street and Michael John.

The Toyota’s driver denied seeing a woman at the corner and reported that the Nissan had stopped suddenly, causing the collision police said.

The driver of the Toyota was ticketed for following too closely and failure to report a change of address to the Secretary of State, police said. No injuries were reported.
