Park Ridge has a new 6th Ward alderman.

The City Council on June 18 unanimously approved Mayor David Schmidt’s appointment of Marc Mazzuca to fill the remaining 11 months of the aldermanic term.

The seat has been vacant since the May 7 resignation of alderman Tom Bernick.

Park Ridge City Clerk Betty Henneman gave Mazzuca the oath of office following the City Council’s vote.

Mazzuca is a resident of Park Ridge’s Bristol Court and has a background in finance, including management positions.

He was one of four residents who expressed interest in the 6th Ward appointment.
