Flashy signs intended to reduce accidents at Park Ridge intersection
Updated: August 6, 2012 6:22AM
PARK RIDGE — In an effort to enhance safety at the intersection of Cumberland and Crescent avenues, Park Ridge police have made changes to the stop signs at the location.
Larger stop signs have been installed with flashing red lights.
According to the Police Department the changes were made to increase visibility and help reduce the potential for accidents.
During the past year police responded to eight motor-vehicle crashes near the intersection with stop-sign violations noted as the primary cause, the department said.
