First-ever Park Ridge Pizza Fest planned for September

PARK RIDGE — Park Ridge will celebrate its hometown charms with saucy toppings, cool tunes and more at the inaugural Park Ridge Pizza Fest, Sept. 7-8, according to a news release.

Presented by the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce this post-Labor Day community celebration will take place in Uptown Park Ridge at the intersection of South Prospect and Summit avenues near the Pickwick Theatre, the release stated.

In addition to pies (Caponies Trattoria and Beggars Pizza are among the vendors) and a children’s area with inflatables and crafts, the Sept. 7 music-stage headliner is popular British rock band Foghat while on Sept. 8 it’s guitarist Daryl Stuermer, of Genesis/Phil Collins fame, the release stated.

Festival hours are 5-11 p.m. Sept. 7 and Noon to 11 p.m. Sept. 8; the suggested gate donation is $5, the release stated.
