PARK RIDGE — The Park Ridge Cultural Arts Council, a nonprofit organization promoting the performing, visual and literary arts in Park Ridge, will offer two grant programs during the next year.

The Arts Fund grant is available to a nonprofit organization or individual whose primary mission is to deliver performing, visual or literary-arts programs or services. The Arts Council will consider requests for project support up to $3,000 and only organizations having annual budgets of less than $50,000 are eligible.

The Arts in Education grant is available to any educator in Park Ridge schools, including Park Ridge-Niles School District 64, St. Paul of the Cross, Mary, Seat of Wisdom, St. Andrews and Maine South and Maine East High Schools. This mini-grant program supports arts activities that enrich the curriculum through classroom experiences, in-school or out-of-school field trips, or other creative ideas. Grants are limited to a maximum of $1,000.

Arts Fund and Arts in Education applications are available at ParkRidgeArts.org. Applications must be received by Oct. 31. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Programs or projects to be funded must be performed and expenditures incurred between Dec. 1, 2012, and Nov. 1, 2013.

In addition to the grant programs, the Cultural Arts Council is developing a new summer-camp scholarship program for students in kindergarten through 12th grade to help further their commitment and development in the arts. To kick off the new program volunteers are needed to join the fundraising committee.
