Park Ridge American Legion plans Veterans Day observance

PARK RIDGE — The Park Ridge Mel Tierney American Legion Post 247 will conduct a Veterans Day ceremony and observance Nov. 12 at Hodges Park, Courtland and Vine avenues in Uptown Park Ridge.
The ceremony will be conducted at the American Legion’s veterans monument and will recognize combat veterans from all U.S. wars.
American Legion Cmdr. Tracy Stern will lead the ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. Park Ridge Mayor David Schmidt is expected to participate in the observance and the Legion’s rifle team will render military honors. Members of the community are encouraged to attend.
