Sheriff’s police have released a photo of the type of car involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash Monday night in Maine Township and are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver.

Cook County sheriff’s police said Wednesday they are looking for a black Dodge Challenger with body damage.

Ronald Bougan, 52, was found along Touhy Avenue east of the Tri-State Tollway, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Bougan, of the first block of North Northwest Highway in Park Ridge, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead.

Cook County sheriff’s police were called about 6 p.m. and found the injuries were consistent with being hit by a car, spokesman Frank Bilecki said.

A bicyclist, who first thought it was a dead deer, saw the body 3 to 5 feet from the road and called police after realizing the body was human, Bilecki said. That portion of Touhy Avenue runs though the Iroquois Woods.

Authorities couldn’t say why Bougan was walking in that area, but family members told police he walked or biked almost everywhere he went, Bilecki said.

An autopsy on Tuesday determined he died from multiple blunt force injuries from being struck by a vehicle and the death was ruled an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver should call sheriff’s police at (708) 865-4896 or (847) 635-1188.
