PARK RIDGE — Musicians and singers from two area schools were featured prominently during Park Ridge’s Winterfest celebration held in Uptown and South Park on Nov. 23.

The Maine East Blue Regiment Marching Band ushered in the arrival of Santa Claus as the community gathered for the annual festivities outside the Park Ridge Public Library. The band then headed to South Park to perform at the trolley stop as guests traveled to and from the city’s two main shopping districts.

Dressed in Renaissance-era costume, the Chamber Choir from Willows Academy in Des Plaines filled the Uptown area with Christmas carols during the event.

Other Winterfest events included visits from Santa and his reindeer, open houses at the Park Ridge Public Library and at the south side fire station, and holiday treats from local merchants.
