PARK RIDGE — Park Ridge Police are reportedly awaiting the conclusion of a pending investigation and a decision from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office before releasing detailed information about an accident that left at least three people injured.

Charges have not yet been filed against anyone in the case which involved a Jeep striking a tree on Cedar Street between Wisner and Elmore at 3:20 a.m. on Dec. 22.

“For whatever reason, when the State’s Attorney reviewed this case they didn’t feel comfortable approving charges at that point,” said Park Ridge Deputy Police Chief Lou Jogmen.

Jogmen said there was an indication that alcohol may have been involved, but the State’s Attorney’s Office is awaiting the results of additional testing before deciding whether charges will be filed.

Three people were hospitalized with multiple injuries though police provided the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate with a list of four occupants of the Jeep, identified as a 19-year-old man and three 20-year-old men.

Jogmen said police were working to determine if an additional person was inside the vehicle. Police are also investigating whether another vehicle was involved. The initial call to police was for a two-car crash, though only the Jeep was at the scene, Jogmen said.
