MAINE TOWNSHIP — Maine Township expects to save about $6,000 a year by installing new high-efficiency lightning at Town Hall, 1700 W. Ballard Rd. in Park Ridge.
The $22,374 cost of the project will be partially covered by two grants totaling $18,816.
The first grant of $9,933 was provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity under the Illinois Energy Now program. If the final application is submitted before Feb. 14, Maine Township will be eligible for an additional $1,390.
The second grant in the amount of $7,494 comes from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation which was established in 1999 as an independent foundation with a $225 million endowment provided by Commonwealth Edison.
