Underage drinking suspect hospitalized, charged in Park Ridge

A 16-year-old Park Ridge girl was taken to the hospital by paramedics after it was determined that she was highly intoxicated the morning of Jan. 6, Park Ridge Police said.

Paramedics and police were called just before 1:20 a.m. to a home on the 1600 block of Courtland Avenue.

Police Lt. Duane Mellema said the 16-year-old girl was treated at the hospital for alcohol intoxication and later released.

She and two other girls, both 15-year-old residents of Park Ridge, were also charged with underage drinking and assigned a Feb. 14 adjudication hearing.

Mellema said the teenagers had reportedly consumed alcohol inside the Courtland Avenue home.

The parents of all the girls were contacted, Mellema said.
