Jae Miller, spokeswoman for the Illinois Department of Transportation, confirmed that a car drove into a patch of fresh concrete near Cumberland Avenue and Higgins Road last week.

"The driver drove into our lane closure and into some freshly-poured concrete," she said in an email. "The contractor was still finishing concrete in the same area and was able to repair the damage before the concrete had completely set up. So there were no delays or set-backs as a result."
