Million Dollar Round Table makes wealth of charitable donations

Updated: March 3, 2012 8:02AM

The Million Dollar Round Table, a nonprofit association for financial professionals, and the MDRT Foundation helped support several local organizations the past holiday season.

MDRT employees donated more than 4,000 items to Maine Township Emergency Food Pantry to help families in need with food and supplies. MDRT also raised $2,870 to benefit Avenues to Independence, which helps provide homes, jobs and community living programs to individuals with developmental disabilities.

MDRT raised these funds by raffling an assortment of gifts and prizes that were donated by local businesses at the association’s 2011 holiday celebration. The MDRT Foundation matched all funds raised through raffle ticket sales.

Additionally, the MDRT Foundation granted $3,750 to both the Park Ridge Teen Center to help maintain a safe and drug-free environment for young adults and the Oracle Theater in Chicago to fund its tour of the Vintage Radio Drama Program for 18 retirement homes.

These grants were awarded as part of the foundation’s corporate citizen grant program, which honors nonprofit organizations making a difference in communities throughout Illinois.

“As an association, we encourage our members to give back to their communities, and it is important that we do the same. We also greatly appreciate the donations from local businesses that helped make our holiday raffle a success,” said MDRT Chief Executive Officer Stephen P. Stahr.
