NEWS BRIEF: Silent film series features ‘Speedy’

Matthew Hoffman, film programmer of the Park Ridge Public Library, recently hosted a screening of a Harold Lloyd silent film, “Speedy” (1938), in conjunction with the Silent Film Society of Chicago.
More than 300 people attended at the Pickwick Theatre.
Jay Warren provided the live organ accompaniment, and special guest was Steve Darnall, radio host of 90.9 FM’s “Those Were the Days.”
This event was part of the film series, “Legends of Laughter,” which ran to June 2.
