Registration for 2012-13

Parents who would like to register their children for the 2012-13 school year are urged to contact the school office as soon as possible. Openings still remain in pre-K-3, part-time pre-K-4, kindergarten and other grades. The full-time pre-K-4 program (five full days per week) is now full, though the school can take names for a waiting list. More information can be found at srb-chicago.org or by calling the office, (773) 725-5133.

Help Girl Scouts support children’s hospital

The fifth-grade Girl Scouts participated in the 5K Move for the Kids to benefit the new Children’s Memorial Hospital. On May 12, they walked the 3.1 miles from Children’s Memorial Hospital to its new downtown facility, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Donations to support the team’s efforts can still be made online. A link can be found on the “News” page of the school website, srb-chicago.org, or by going to www.heroesforlife.org and searching for the team name, Girl Scout Troop 20191.

Comedy Night

The Sports Association will present its third annual Global Giggles Comedy Night from 7:30-9:30 p.m. May 19 in the church hall, 4646 N. Austin Ave., Chicago. Doors open at 6 p.m. for cocktails and pre-ordered barbecue sandwiches from Smokey’s BBQ. Dancing will follow the comedy show and there will be plenty of chances to win great raffle prizes.

Tickets are $25 in advance and include one drink and a chance to win a door prize. Grand raffle tickets are also available for $10 each, with five cash prizes ranging from $100 to $500. The goal is to raise enough money to purchase and install a new gym floor.

More details and an order form for tickets and food are available on the “Athletics News” page of the school website, srb-chicago.org.
