As part of the Archdiocese’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week, St. Robert Bellarmine School will hold an Open House from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 29 after the noon Mass. Visitors can learn about programs, meet the principal, talk with other parents, tour the school, meet teachers in their classrooms and view student work.
St. Robert Bellarmine School is located at 6036 W. Eastwood Ave., Chicago. To attend the open house, enter through the gym doors located directly off the church parking lot at the corner of Austin and Eastwood avenues.
Information about programs and curriculum, as well as other open-house times, can be found on the school website, srb-chicago.org.
Registration is open for the spring 2012 session of Tiny Tots for 2-year-olds. The 10-week session will meet 10-11 a.m. Thursdays, Feb. 16 to May 10. (There will be no class March 29, April 5 and 12.) The cost is $60 for the 10-week session, due at time of registration. Registration forms are available on the Tiny Tots page of the school website (srb-chicago.org) or from the school office (773) 725-5133). Class size is limited; register early.
To build on its strong Language Arts core, St. Robert Bellarmine School will introduce the Latin and Greek Roots Challenge to students in K-8 in January 2012.
The program is designed to introduce students to the roots, which are the “building blocks” of the English language in a creative, collaborative and fun way. It instills the discipline to deconstruct words into their component roots, thereby building a stronger foundation for academic success.
More information is available on the “K-8 Curriculum” page of the school website (srb-chicago.org) and will also be available at the Jan. 29 Open House. Call (773) 725-5133.
Registration is open for the next session of Little Bruins after-school soccer, baseball and basketball programs for students in kindergarten to third grade.
Registration forms are available on the Extracurricular Activities and Athletics pages of the school website, srb-chicago.org, or from the school office, (773) 725-5133. Register by Jan. 20.
