There’s a new addition at the Park Ridge VFW as the organization marks 75 years in the community.

In August, a dedication of a new Brick Memorial Garden was held outside the VFW Post No. 3579 at the corner of Higgins and Canfield roads. The garden features bricks surrounding the flagpole that are engraved with the names of local people who have served in the military.

The dedication included a 21-gun salute by members of the VFW.

The project was designed and installed by Chris Gloeckle of Boy Scout Troop 922 as part of his Eagle Scout project.
