Letter to the editor: Thanks for successful scholarship fundraiser

I just want to take a few lines to talk about the high school kids who helped make the 2nd Chance Scholarship volleyball fundraiser, held on Jan. 14 , such a success.

We raised enough money for almost two years’ worth of scholarships.

The kids were so well behaved. They appropriately busied themselves until their teams were chosen, went directly to where they were assigned, and listened carefully to the directions from the adults and fellow student referees.

Many of the kids dressed up in funny outfits and weren’t afraid to add that “silly” element. They left the place as clean as they had found it, and were respectful and polite to all.

Thank you to the parents who helped at the event and to those who raised these amazing kids.

Several scholarship applications have been received and are being reviewed for award.
